What is the process of making airline porcelain tableware?
Airline porcelain tableware is lightweight, durable, and often scratch-resistant porcelain dinnerware specifically designed for use on airplanes to serve meals and drink, one set may include Casserole, Plate, Bowl, Cup, Salt & Pepper Shaker etc.
Do you know what is the process of making airline porcelain tableware?
1. Clay Preparation
The first step in porcelain making is clay preparation, which involves refining the porcelain clay into usable material.
2. Clay Stacking
The prepared clay cannot be used immediately. It needs to be divided and shaped into cylinders for storage and later use in throwing.
3. Throwing
The stacked clay is placed on a large potter's wheel. By rotating the wheel and using hands and a throwing tool, the clay is shaped into a porcelain blank.
4. Molding
The shaped blank is just a rough form. Different molds are used to mold the blank into various shapes, depending on the desired form.
5. Trimming
Uneven thickness in the molded blank requires trimming to make it neat and uniform.
6. Washing
Washing is an essential step, removing dust from the blank with clean water to prepare it for subsequent painting and glazing processes.
7. Painting
Painting on the blank is a major feature of ceramic art.
8. Glazing
After glazing, the appearance is completely different, smooth and bright. Different glazing techniques produce entirely different effects.
9. Firing
The porcelain blank, having undergone dozens of processes, is fired at thousands of degrees Celsius in the kiln, like an ugly duckling about to transform into a beautiful swan.
10. Finished Porcelain
After several days of firing, the porcelain blank in the kiln has become a finely crafted porcelain piece.
